Mr.Salsich
Ever since I can remember I was always told to never judge somebody by their physical features. This was one of the most important lessons I was ever told. Nobody is perfect, everbody has their flaws. I personally don't care what other people think about me. if they want to judge me on how I look, I say go for it.
TS-Never judge a book by its cover until you know the true character. SD-Chapter seven in the book To Kill A Mocking Bird relates to a stick because a stick has a layer of bark that hides its true insides.CM- Mr.Radley's house is like the stick's bark because it hides his true personality.CM-You never know something's true inside until you peel away its bark.
SD-In the Disney movie Shrek, a scene played out by Shrek talks about onions having layers, "No! Layers! Onions have layers. Ogers have layers. Onions have layers... you get it. We both have layers". CM-Shrek implied everyone has feelings no matter what their layers present. CM-Mr.Radley and the stick both have in common an outer shell that hides beauty inside.
TS-In my life, however, a stick has many functional purposes.
SD-Ever since I can remember, I have always been an outdoor person.CM-In the summer time my friend Joe and I would spend countless hours constructing forts made from sticks. CM-I can’t imagine how boring summer would be without these wonderful sticks to build with.SD-Another reason sticks are important to my life is because I have a yellow labrador.CM- Everyday of his life he has been fetching and sticks in the ocean, river, ponds, lakes, and woods. I honestly don’t know what I would do if there were no sticks for him to chew or fetch.CM-Without sticks the house would be torn to pieces from a hyper crazy lab that has nothing to retrieve or orally fixate himself on.SD-My last reason sticks are so essential to my life is, I always am whittling spears, ducks, and another thing that’s seems compelling.CM-To me whittling is very relaxing and passes time nicely.CM-Passing time relates to Jem, Dill,
and Scout because they are always trying to find a way to pass time during the long summer days. If they found something to do, like whittling, they may never have lurked into the Radley's backyard. CS-Sticks are for building, sticks are for fetching, sticks are for carving, sticks are for chewing, sticks are for fun (anaphora).
I can't believe how useful and important sticks are in my life until I pondered about it. The sybolism of a stick is important to my moral values as funny as that may sound. We never know someones true character just by looking at them. I will always look beyond ones profile before I pass a judgement.
Dear Sam,
ReplyDeleteI think both your anaphoras work, good job. I see improvement in your the number of spelling or grammatical errors. Although in your first paragraph there is really no examples of how the stick relates to TKAM.
Sam, in this sentence --
ReplyDelete"It's what's inside that counts, it's what's inside that matters, it's what's inside that's true."--
the anaphora might work better if you didn't repeat "it's what's inside", but just repeated "that". It would still be anaphora, and would be a bit stronger, I think.
